How to Play Pixel Pitch

Pixel Pitch is a free party game you play in your browser with friends. Everyone gets the same silly challenge, invents a ridiculous product, pitches it, and then rates and reviews everyone else's. Most points at the end wins bragging rights. No downloads, no account.

Start or join a game

  • Start a game: tap Start a game on the home page, pick your name and settings, and share the game code or link with friends.
  • Join a game: tap Join, type your name, and enter the host's code. (Name first, code second. We've all done it backwards.)
  • Each person plays on their own device. Two people sharing one browser will step on each other's toes, so use a second device or a private window.

How a round works

  1. Get the challenge. Everyone sees the same theme, like Wacky Gadgets or Time Traveler's Mistake.
  2. Build your product. You have a set time to make it. Draw, drop in items from the product library, move things around, and add text.
  3. Write your pitch. Give it a name and a description. This is your sales pitch, so make it count. ("Mud is structural" is a valid selling point.)
  4. Rate and review. Each product gets its moment. Rate it from 1 to 5 stars on categories like Creativity, Originality, Hilarity, and Wacky Factor, and leave a short review if you want. While yours is up, watch the stars come in live and add a last line of hype.
  5. The shelf reveal. Every product lands on the store shelf with its scores and reviews. Cheer, gasp, defend your honor.

Creation tools

  • Draw: pick a colour and brush size and sketch away.
  • Move: drag, resize, and arrange what's on the canvas.
  • Text: put words on your product. Labels, warnings, slogans.
  • Library: grab ready-made objects and mash them together. A ceiling fan on a boot? Sure.

How the winner is picked

  • Winners are decided by total points at the end — not stars alone. Creators earn points from their product's average star rating (the mean of each friend's category scores). Optional price guessing adds separate guess points when the host turns it on.
  • Each product you rate earns a flat participation bonus (no extra points for inflating stars).
  • Writing a qualifying review earns you 50 bonus points per product. Thumbs-ups earn 20 points each — on your written review (you), on your product image (creator), or on your pitch text (whoever wrote it).
  • Top Rated goes to the creator of the single highest average-rated product that received a full set of ratings from every other player — not empty auto-save placeholders.
  • The player with the most points at the end wins bragging rights. There's no trophy, so you'll have to bring your own.

Tips for a funnier entry

  • Combine two things that should never meet.
  • Give it a dead-serious name and a ridiculous description, or the other way around.
  • Add a fake feature list or a warning label.
  • Rate honestly and review generously. Funny reviews earn points and get thumbs-ups.

Hosting tips

  • Only the host can start the game and move things along between products.
  • Wait until everyone shows up in the lobby before you start.

FAQ

Do I need an account?
No. Just a name.
Is it free?
Yes.
What do I need?
A browser on a phone, tablet, or computer.
How many players?
1–8 per game.
How long is a game?
About 15 minutes for a typical 2-round game with default timers (roughly 4m 45s of timed phases per round, plus shelf reveal and banter). The host can change rounds and timer lengths.
What's the price for?
It's a small side game where you guess what the creator thinks their product is worth. It's fun, but the main event is creating, rating, and reviewing.
